View from the Hill mural

A youth group from Our Community Space did a project about fair trade with the One World Centre, which led to an event called Picnic in the Park and the mural. Pamie was keen that the mural should not just reflect things in the Hilltown but that young people should be encouraged to look outwith the area and see other parts of the city – hence the inclusion of the penguins etc. DEAP employment agency were also involved in the project. In 2019 the mural was repainted with the help of local schoolchildren as part of Bennett’s John Muir Award project, one of several undertaken as part of the Dundee Learning in Nature project run by the Arts & Communities Association with funding from Scottish Natural Heritage’s Outdoor Learning in Nature fund.
