Description
Blackness Public Art Programme. A set of glazed ceramic tiles in the blocked-up windows. Left panel shows faces of local residents, including Bob Russell, the owner of Alexander Removals who were in the building. Other four panels are fantasies on the theme of the elements. Cost £5000. Commended by Saltire Society. Previously based near Scone, the artist moved to New Zealand soon after this. Originally there were flower forms in between each panel (inspired by slot machine imagery) - these were removed when windows were opened up in 2024.
