Davit gateway sculpture

Designed by Steve Page and fabricated by Metaltech, Dundee. Info from the artist: Commissioned as part of the Broughty Ferry Flood Prevention Scheme. The Davit sculpture in corten steel was installed in 2022 to mark the completion of the flood defence works. It is intended as a commemoration of the RNLI Broughty Ferry Lifeboat and the many crewmembers who have served in aid of people at risk upon the sea. The sculpture contains the names of all of the all-weather lifeboats that have been stationed at Broughty Ferry. It takes the form of a pair of davit cranes used to raise and lower the lifeboats.
