Description
The tower was repaired in the 1870s and the Virgin and other sculptures were replaced with replicas at that time, presumably instigated by architect George Gilbert Scott. There is also a carved Church of Scotland emblem (Nec Tamen Consumebatur) on the gable end of St Mary's Church.
