Description
One of two murals painted on gable ends of the sheltered housing complex on Craigie Street. Commissioned by Open/Close Dundee with support from Stobswell Forum, Boomerang Centre and Dundee City Council. Funded by WCAIR (Wellcome Centre for Anti-Infectives Research), School of Life Sciences, University of Dundee. The brief for mural was to complement the adjacent mural by Lauren Morsley and the pocket park designs nearby. It was also intended "to be bright, welcoming, and colourful" and to "reflect the work which takes place in the Wellcome Centre for Anti-Infectives Research at the University of Dundee. This includes work with medicine, treatment of tropical diseases, parasites and DNA." Wall size 6m x 18m. Artist's fee £5350. Lewi Quinn was assisted by Finnula Campbell and Sure Signs Glasgow.
