Description
At entrance to Orchard Bank housing development. Commissioned in 2008 but delayed by the recession - mostly completed 2013 with the final touches in 2014. The works were inspired by the idea that the site had once been farmland - the artist linked the idea of tending crops to the new residents looking after their houses. The five spheres were inspired by (a) collecting memories (basket weave), (b) keeping the good things (riddling), (c) binding together (string), (d) putting down roots, (e) planting seeds.
