Description
Commisioned by Dundee Public Art Programme with Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art as part of the latter’s centenary celebrations; funded by Dundee District Council (£10,000). Info from the artist: "The title 'Strange Attractor' is a phrase lifted from the Chaos theory (in Physics) which was evolved in the 1990s; in short, it is a way of understanding non-linear behaviour such as turbulence in fluids or the shape of clouds. Also the superficial meaning can be applied to the sculpture, it is strange and attracts people to look at it." Bearings replaced in 2018.
